Safeguarding Update – The Warrington Safeguarding Partnership

Dear Parents & Carers,

Safeguarding Update – The Warrington Safeguarding Partnership

I hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing to make you aware of an important safeguarding notification that has been brought to our attention via The Warrington Safeguarding Partnership. They have made all schools and appropriate services aware of a WhatsApp group titled ‘Add People’. This group has hundreds of children and young people, and it is believed that the aim of the group is to add as many people to the group as possible.

I am therefore asking all parents to kindly check their child’s phone to remove them from this group if they have joined, ensure the group is both blocked and deleted and that there are appropriate parental controls in place to safeguard your child. Whilst I am aware that children under the age of thirteen aren’t advised to have access to WhatsApp, I thought it was useful information for all parents.

The safety of our children and young people is our number one priority. If you have concerns or would like to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or a member of the team.

Yours sincerely

Sarah Makin

Executive Head
