RHS Leavers Results 2024

Headlines

  • Rapid increase in the amount of qualifications passed – over 210 this year (Y7-11) compared to just under 150 last year.
  • Pupils on average leaving Reddish Hall with 10 qualifications each.
  • The amount of pupils leaving Reddish Hall with 5 or more GCSEs (or equivalent) has doubled within 3 years, now at 75%.

Consistently above average outcomes

Whilst most grade boundaries have been relaxed this year, with relatively small cohorts it is inaccurate to compare one group of leavers’ results with another, particularly if the group cohort ability levels are different.
There has been a slight dip in grades from last year, we are pleased that our school’s Attainment 8 scores remain way above national independent SEND schools as below:
Additionally, we are confident that our leavers are achieving broadly in line with their potential as identified in CAT-4 testing. Usage of CAT-4 is relatively new, and we have noticed that around 70% of our leavers are achieving their raw potential – this is positive considering our pupils have a range of additional needs and sometimes are experiencing acute mental health complexities during their final year of school.

Amount of pupils leaving with 5 or more GCSE’s

The proportion of our pupils leaving us with 5 or more GCSE/equivalent qualifications has again increased significantly, as below:

On average, pupils this year have left us with around 10 qualifications each, which is a tremendous achievement for them, and a big increase on previous school records as we broaden our curriculum offer.
Pupils have achieved well across not just GCSE’s, but also BTEC’s, vocational qualifications, and personal development awards such as Prince’s Trust.
