With the introduction of ‘options’ for our Key Stage 4 pupils, including GCSE, BTEC, Functional skills, City & Guilds and DofE (now AIM), our 2020 leaver had choice of over a dozen different subjects, qualifications and enrichment areas. For the first time, this allowed pupils to study the subjects that interested them most and has resulted in the 2020 exams series being Reddish Hall Schools most successful.
Our core subjects had 100% pass rates in both Functional Skills Level 1 Maths and English. Core GCSE subjects also had a 100% success rate with 50% of pupils receiving a ‘good’ grade (Grade 4 and over) in GCSE Maths, 1/3 in English and 30% in Science.
Our non-core subjects (English Literature, History, Computing and Art GCSE’s, BTEC Sports, Horticulture City and Guilds and Duke of Edinburg Award), also achieved 100% pass rates, again with 30% graded as ‘good’. On average, our pupils gained 7 qualifications across the range of levels with one pupil gaining 9.
We at Reddish Hall School are very pleased with the efforts and achievements of all our pupils and staff in this, the first year of exams in many subject areas. The success of our pupils have allowed all our leavers to take further steps towards their chosen careers by entering training in a range of settings including; Sports Development, Motor mechanic, Social care, Engineering and Electrical engineering.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our leavers and wish them every success in their futures.
